FAQ
What does Monkfruit Mate taste like, and how sweet is it?
Pleasantly herbal, with a fruity-sweet finish. It contains 0.4 g of sugar per 100 ml and no sweeteners. Best served at 4 °C.
What is monkfruit?
Monkfruit (Siraitia grosvenorii) is the round fruit, 4 to 8 cm across, of a climbing plant in the gourd family. Its Chinese name, luo han guo, refers to Buddhist monks. It has been valued in Asia for 800 years.
Where does it come from?
Mainly from the mountains around Guilin in Guangxi, southern China, where the plants often stand in mist. It rarely grows in the wild. It is first mentioned in 13th-century monastery records from the region.
How is it used?
It is harvested green, then dried until the shell is brown and brittle. In China it is mostly sold this way and used in tea and soups. For our mate, it is boiled in hot water, filtered and concentrated.
How much caffeine is in a can?
Monkfruit Mate naturally contains caffeine: 13.5 mg per 100 ml, around 45 mg per 33 cl can.
Where do you deliver, and how long does it take?
We deliver within Switzerland only, normally with Swiss Post. Delivery takes 5–8 working days.
How can I pay? Do I need an account?
You can pay with TWINT, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. You don't need a customer account; you check out as a guest.
What if a can arrives damaged?
Report damaged or defective goods to info@monqzi.com within 7 days of receipt, with a photo if possible. We send you a replacement free of charge. As our products are food, we can't take back goods in perfect condition.
Do you have terms for companies?
Yes. Offices, gyms, hotels, cafés and shops get volume discounts, direct delivery and, on request, a demo fridge. Send your enquiry via the B2B page.

CUT THE BULLS**T. STARTING WITH OURS.
We wanted something you take out of the fridge and consume without thinking about it. Without reading the ingredient list first, without counting E-numbers and without compromising on taste. We couldn’t find it, so we’re simply making it ourselves. In this industry, sweetness and ingredients are a question of cost. We think that’s wrong, and we want to change it. Behind this venture: two founders and a great many hours of work.
